Inner-hole to inner-hole is the only way to measure it if you're comparing decks. _________________ http://www.skateboardracing.org.au - ASRA, the home of Australian skateboard racing |

| bear we dont all ride the same trucks so for board manufactor we need some sort of consistency in measurments so as you can get the size of wheel base you require. |

Just stretched mine to 21 hole to hole or 24 axle to axle.
Grolsch.
Radikal front GOG rear.
Grolsch.
Was 19 1/4 aimed for 201/2 by the time the trucks rolled down the nose and tail wound up with the 21.
Grolsch.
Double wedged front was single.
Grolsch.
Attempted to be arty and tweaked grip.
Grolsch and nana nap at 2.
Next trick purchase and switch 1 inch axles for 3/4 to bring in line with rear.
Test morrow.

Thanks Mark..it helps when you give the two measurements "the deck" wheel base AND the axle to axle wheel base. .for comparisons with other full setups..and looking at just decks.
if you're running 24 axle to axle...thats what i'm gonna try and compare as a reference to my complete setup..even though the deck wheelbases on our decks might be completly different...as we are using different truck designs |

My 20.4 is inner hole to hole on the deck. Will check tonight what that equates to axle to axle with the truck setup. _________________ skate... or don't. |

I have found wb to be a bit academic. Different styles of truck can change your wb dramatically as I found with a Virage Vite and a standard Virage front truck. I put the Vite on a Pirnack and it had a longish w/b on the short w/b holes. Its w/b was longer than the Roadster which had a fr/rr Virage setup. Swapped the front trucks and low and behold the Pirnack had a short wb and the Roadster a long one. Moved the Virage to the foremost holes on the Pirnack and the wb is almost the same as the Roadster. Haven't measured them yet, my dick is too short. See my thread Radikal Tail set up for pics of the puppies before i played around with the trucks.
Check out the mountings, with a normal geo truck, the inner hole to inner hole is way shorter than with the reverse geo truck, but the WB on the Pirnack is still shorter.
My guess would be there is no definitive wb, just suck it and see what suits. |

Tried the above settings out and decided to return the roadster to its original set up as it works so well. I will just have to play around with the Pirnack to get it right. It is weird how 2 boards ride so differently when set up almost identically. One thing i will say is I ain't keen on the Otangs for slalom, they feel smooth as but also feel slow as, anyone think I'm talking shiz let me know or does anyone agree?? I just like th feel of the Zigs, they grip wheel and run fast, or so it seems. _________________ It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be a tosser. |

K judge I here ya on the otangs, thats all I got currently, thinking the 80,s could be to soft on the rear, so lookin at goin 83 rear and 86 front, these will have to be in Retro,s, other thing was thinking was how high a duro can one go to max out the coast, maybe 89 - 86 this could also be mixed up left and right depending on the course, whats arf a second worth - a GOG, nufin left but natural ability a tweak and the stik.

I have some 89a Zigzags on the way from Sk8kings, thought i'd give 'em a try, whats the worst that can happen, a crash! I think i'll be running 80a /86a on the Roadster and 80a /89a on the Pirnack.
Thing is there are some seriously able guys out there, so I may have to get a mini jet engine too, or maybe I could Nerf Jacko and co as we rock and roll just to put them off, if only I could get close enough!!!
Nice rig btw, looks well balanced. _________________ It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be a tosser. |
