Thanks to Hop for the wicked deal where I get a sick board and 20 cones to boot!! Massive value and I grabbed a few accessories while I was at the virtual hop shop. It all arrived today and I am stoked.
I am taking my new acquisition to work tomorrow to have some lunchtime fun! I also plan to do some cruising, I've only stood on it in the house so far but it looks like lots of fun and totally cruisable as the sales pitch said It's even got a difficult ollie in it with the kicktail, non tail tap ollie lol.
Another cool thing about the board is that I can set it up for ditch or GS and then reset it for normal slalom (I think, Hop?). See you all at Conehead Cup Canberra! _________________ skate... or don't. |

Seismic actually do make the green.
Environmentally conscious hemp cones would sell like crack to kids!
You might be onto something with the glowshtick infused variety. _________________

The seismic ones in green look cool. Nothing better than a brainstorm on new product The glow can be enviro too, derived from some kind of fungus _________________ skate... or don't. |

^^^^ There's the product name right there braden hehe.
Well I had my first go on my own board with my own cones. It was a rad session, just me, a virgin board and 10 cones, in the ultra smooth bitumen carpark at work that rarely has more than 4 cars and enough room for 10 cones at 6-8'.
First go was good, with 8' cones the board felt really nice, and only being the second time I have ever ridden a slalom board, I have a long way to go on technique. I thought 8' spacing was a lot after my initial sesh with the Canberra crew a few weeks back, but at 6' (my own feet) I could not get it around well at all, a lot of technique to gain and maybe some tweaks.
I found the tighter it was the more accurate I had to be with foot position, being a mongo pushing flat footer at the best of times I am getting used to the different way one stands on a slalom board.
At the end of it, about 35 runs I guess, I was getting through my 7' spaced cones, not hitting any and starting to get that wiggle instead of carve on the technique.
I must say though that even with my most novice of novice slamon experience, those funky trucks Paul and Neil (CROSS) have make my board feel slow. I can actually pump uphill on Neils board and have not tried on Pauls but it was even faster through the cones for me. I'll be trying to get my front truck sorted with spherical bearings ASAP, cos I don't have as much as the complete board cost for one truck
OMG, I've spent a few hundred bucks and overnight become some kind of frikkin slalom nerd!!! Help me _________________ skate... or don't. |

| Addictive isn't it. First time I had a run thru the cones was with Mnt Mick @ the Pump Station, and I was hooked. |

Welcome to the slalom addicts society!
Use good quality bushes and go hard like around 95A for the rear truck and soft as you can handle for the front truck. This will generate the most power for you.
Just for the record, I ride slalom and no one has had the balls to call me a nerd to my face. _________________

Welcome to CHC fever Scotty,
Have a look at the thread on front pivots in the "Coneheads" forum.
Spherical truck upgrades are achievable in the home garage.
Any queries just ask.

Lol thanks fellas The bushings were set up by Hop as I told him my height and weight, front has orange top and blue bottom, back has blue top and red bottom, barrels. It is at the medium wheelbase setting on both ends of a possible three settings, so I'm reckoning this might be the problem with tight cones. I would assume smaller wheelbase gives tighter turning?
I am not confident with metalworking things so I'll call in some help from somebody who is to do the bearing mod, I'm better at things like fixing my 20" flat panel monitor with 5 bucks worth of parts and instructions from a forum _________________ skate... or don't. |

Unless you're 110kg you might want to get softer bushings on the front - orange/white, or even white/white. It'll def make tight cones easier. _________________ http://www.skateboardracing.org.au - ASRA, the home of Australian skateboard racing |

Scotty,
I should be at Canberra with my modded trackers, and
i think Coz will be there with his Ace's, so you could try them both.
If youve still got the Flashbacks then maybe we could do a deal?
Or you could just use cash or physical intimidation.
