Also stands tor Ridiculous Turning.
Slalom nerds & newbies...........May I present........ the OSR-TX.
Hanger bearing.
Hand made high tensile steel pivot & hanger bearing.
Tracker even put Richies initials on the underside of the hanger....nice touch.
Turning range.
Base plate pivot bearing.
Truck is mounted on my new proto' hybrid deck - 'The PeaCeMaker'.
Peace out y'all.
30'' long x 8.25'' wide, 19'' & 20'' WB.
Nose.
Tail.
.
Hand shaped MDF riser, painted red.
Recycled 8.125 Real street deck, Reshaped & drilled, plus custom concave extensions through nose & tail areas to form a bowl area under each foot.

PC can I ask you to try to qualify how much of a better truck the modded truck is compared to standard?
Looks amazing. Well done OSR. I especially like the pivot to the hanger. _________________ Do evil vegetarians worship Sultanis? |

Mosu Did you notice how inaccurate the bushing recesses are in Trackers.
The bearing was centered off the top bushing ring how ever on the underside the bearing sits close to the front of the rim. Also the thickness varies too. They don't line up not like Bennetts.
That other picture shows how I address the pivot mod with a screw in insert. Please note all components are loctited and the bearings are center punched too.
Using high tensile steel for a pivot insert was a bit over the top but the old king pins were handy. That is all you would need to do for A ball pivot. Cut drill and tap.
P.C. also shows the turning range of a bushingless truck.in reality they won't turn that much but not far from it.
P.C. s deck is awesome too ,looks cool but more importantly so sure under foot with the foot pockets .It farking hammers.Cone killer if there ever was one.
Still got a few Bennets and Trackers to do yet.
Soon I hope to manufacture complete home made trucks including bushings. No castings or CNCed alloy required.Bring on the Lazer geometry with sphericals too.It will be a goer. |

Mosu, I've had 2 sessions on the OSR-TX.
Once through a nice hybrid course last week up in Newy, when I got the truck back from OSR. with a 20inch WB.
The other last saturday at Sidonia. using a 19 inch WB. We had 2 lanes of 50 cones, 1 at 5.5 foot centres & 1 at 6 foot centres.
You could feel the difference straight away. Incredible..........
I can certainly qualify after this brief test period the truck has.
1. FEEL. Its much more solid underfoot than a standard truck with soft bushings & more responsive by far. Didn't have any twitching at speed like you can experience with a standard RT-X when its run loose/sloppy.
2. ACCELERATION. The modified truck turns so smooth & fast you can feel the extra acceleration it gives compared to a standard.
3. STABILITY. Having the bearing between the cushions holds everything snug & help the cushions do their job better, eliminating the slop you get with a loose standard truck. You can tune the cushions a bit tighter than you would on a standard and still get more turning dynamics from it.
4. TURNING. Definately a huge difference overall. Increased range of turning, smoother action & more precise feel.
Feel.
Acceleration.
Stability.
Turning............
F.A.S.T.
What more can I say, I love it !!!!!!!!! |

Nice work there Brad.Got to thank you andP.C. for posting up the pictures of my bennett and tracker.
Love your work on the SL 2002. Gee I don't see much room to use a screw in insert for a pivot and I doubt if it would be worth the risk.
I got to fabricate a SL type truck in 2.5 mm S/steel with double sphericals.I should get my urethane soon and be knocking out bushings. The SL are going to need a set hey.
We are doing it COOL, |

When you look at the white (khiro I presume) bushing is it worn in the center? Is this a consequence of the spherical bearings (inner ring) motion against the bushing.
Besides replacing bushings often are there any other consequences to consider with the hanger bushing spherical bearing mod.
Brad great pics. Have you found a noticible performance gain from these modifications? _________________ Do evil vegetarians worship Sultanis? |

Radikal bushings (and Venom bushings too) have a slight recess around the hole to allow for the spherical bearing. Neither are easy to get, although Venom are going to start producing more soon apparently. _________________ http://www.skateboardracing.org.au - ASRA, the home of Australian skateboard racing |

| Thanks guys ! Well that white khiro was ressested with a stanley knife to give no bearing resistance BUT i found an easier way !! Now im using a 18 mm ball stone and its nice and clean finnish ,Has no marks from touching the bearings . BIG thanks to OSR ! |

That reminds me my chemical suplier should have sent my 55 A duro urethane mix.I can't wait to start pouring bushings this week end.
I hope to get a complete home made truck this week end too.
No electric arc furnace Mosu.
Just cut out a couple of components,Bend them up drill the apropriate holes 4 small welds and I should have a double spherical bearing truck of my own design.I am guessing 2 to 3 hours work
Almost have totally lost intrest in converting Bennetts and Trackers.Just a few more and thats it.
What ever I do it will never be of the same quality as GOG or Radical.
If you want the best then buy it.I am just messing aroung and having fun in the process.
I am however encouraged by the fact that others are getting into it too.
Unlike other sites we here in OZ can at least share knowlege and ideas. Some one out there will find an esier way to do these conversions but really they are not too dificult especially with Bennetts |

Maybe this should be in a new thread, but if your playing round
with mods you can probably answer the eternal question?
Which is better, Bennets or Trackers?
I've started to ride slalom just using my Fury Super Sports,
soon, once i save up i hope to up to visit friends in Newcastle
then Hop for an slalom outfit.
Are the Bennets twice as good (cos there twice the price)
or do you need to learn (idiosyncricies) to ride whatever you buy?
Or should i buy the inexpensive trackers then mod them?
$40 for a bearing's, maybe a reamer, some blood some sweat and
plenty of tears?
Are the modded Trackers better than a standard Bennet?
Why are there Skennets and Krispy Hills and no
Sktrackers and Krispytrackers? Is it just due to ease of the mods?
Oh i'm an inquisitve soul!
