Yeah Pangy's trying to work it all out. Originally they were going to share the joint, now it looks like they're giving us the boot. Date's aren't 100% confirmed yet. _________________

The final round of the 2009 Conehead Cup takes place this weekend. It's on SUNDAY October 4, and it'll be a single lane jam-format Giant slalom at the Pump Station.
The course is set on the mellow side of the Pump Station road, albeit on the steepest part, from the camp site down to the bottom. It's approximately 300 metres long, and has just about everything; tight pumpy sections, big offsets at speed, some big sweeping turns, and some tight stingers at speed.
What time?
Practice and registration: 10am - 12pm
Rider's meting: 12pm
Racing: 12.05pm until everybody has had six timed runs (approximately three hours)
Note: Daylight savings starts the night before the race!!!
Where is it?
Pump Station, Blue Mountains, NSW
Parking
Please do not block the road closure gate. Also take care not to block any driveways or park in a way that might piss off any local residents etc. This might mean that you have to park a few hundred metres away and walk for a bit.
Other Stuff
* The location is a little remote - there are no nearby shops or facilities of any kind, so be prepared.
* Bring lots of water to drink.
* We will have a pit-toilet on-site.
* Do NOT skate the steep side of the hill as you will be colliding with people skating the opposite direction on a narow road when you are both at maximum speed.
* Please leave the place as clean as you found it.
* Skate fast!
After-Party
As this is the last race of the 2009 Conehead Cup we will have a presentation ceremony, BBQ, after-party, and spa session at the ASRA Clubhouse in Katoomba immediately following the race. Please send a message to myself or Robbo for the exact location. _________________ http://www.skateboardracing.org.au - ASRA, the home of Australian skateboard racing |

Latest news:
There will be a start ramp just for that extra bit of sped required on the Pump St hill.
The ASRA Trophy Maker has developed some special trophies for this race, as well as a separate set of trophies for the overall 2009 Conehead Cup. I have no photos, but apparently they're like nothing seen before.
The trophy presentation will be held at the After-Party at the ASRA Clubhouse, in the hours after the race. PM me or Robbo for directions. _________________ http://www.skateboardracing.org.au - ASRA, the home of Australian skateboard racing |
